Description

Learn to paint powerful flowers from life with pastels.  I’ll
show you how to use strong colors and dramatic light to create a floral
painting. 
 

We’ll work from life with fresh
flowers, using careful observation of color temperatures, values, hues,
edges and more. We’ll also learn how to portray opaque petals and
translucent ones.  

Fresh flowers will be
provided (with a supply fee under $10). You are also welcome to bring
any others you’re interested in painting and/or are blooming in your
gardens. (A few bulbs may be awake by the time we meet.)
I’ll
demonstrate with pastels each day, and work one-on-one with each artist
individually. Feel free to bring ideas, questions, and/or works in
progress, too.

For all levels, from
beginning through seasoned artists. Ages 16 and up. This workshop is
also suitable for oil or acrylic artists. A number of the concepts apply
to those mediums, as well.
